Purpose
The Social Justice Ministry of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church along with its community partners cordially invite you to share in our Social Justice Summit: A Statewide Call To Action, to be held March 20 – 21, 2020. The summit will not only celebrate the intrinsic value of women, but it will also rekindle and unleash their power as prayer warriors who affect change in our families, our churches and our communities. This summit is a collective gathering for women of prayer to engage their spiritual power in ways that impact personal, social and political change.
The rich history of African American women in the persons of Fannie Lou Hamer, Dorothy Height, Rosa Parks, Ella Baker, Sojourner Truth, Rev. Mary Moody, Michelle Obama and Stacey Abrams, are examples of the fact that women of color have always been at the forefront of creating social change for our communities. Women have without question always relied on faith and prayer to guide their paths and make an impact in ways that changed the circumstances that surrounded them.
This weekend will inspire and empower women through authentic worship, powerful prayer, workshops, Interactive panel discussions and networking opportunities to create connections with other women. Music will be provided by a dynamic community choir.
Not only will we build our personal faith and awareness through this summit but we will be equipped with the tools that we need to amplify our voices and build a movement of faith-filled constituents and witnesses who are dedicated to making Louisiana better for ourselves, our families, our communities and our future.
